Events
Sapulpa's
2008 Calendar of Events is filled from January to December
as the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, Sapulpa Main Street, Sapulpa
Arts, Sapulpa Community Theatre, and other local civic groups
bring special events to the community.
In January, the annual Chamber Banquet celebrates the tremendous
business and infrastructure advances made throughout the city.
The Community Theatre begins its season of plays. In March, visit the chamber booth at the Tulsa
Home and Garden Show. Sapulpa has won several awards for its booth
in past years.
Easter in March has area children involved in the Sapulpa
Parks & Recreation Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kelly Lane
Park. In May
the Sapulpa Community Band will host a concert & tailgate
party at the Courthouse Plaza.
The first weekend in June arrives bringing over 15,000 visitors to the Route 66 Blowout, sponsored by Sapulpa Main Street. This fun-filled family event features a
classic car show, craft vendors and fun activities for children. The first weekend in June also brings a juried art show sponsored
by Sapulpa Arts. It gives local artists an opportunity to
display and sell their work. The month of June is capped off
with the Chamber's annual golf tournament.
July begins with 4th of July celebrations. Kelly Lane Park is the sight for "Freedom Days" a family event with food, games and activities for everyone, sponsored by Sapulpa Parks and Recreation. Sapulpa's Independence Day celebrations continue with a wonderfull fireworks display sponsored by American Heritage Bank in the evening.
Mid-July brings Arts Explore, a two week experience
for children in various art forms sponsored by Sapulpa Arts.
The second weekend in July, merchants pull together to have
the year's only downtown sidewalk sale. We end the month with our annual Sapulpa Royal Jazz Festival. Some of the top jazz performers in the state will perform at Liberty Park.
The Chamber Fall Auction will be a fun filled evening in October. Sapulpa Main Street provides
one stop trick or treating for young ghouls and goblins on
Halloween. Local businesses and organizations provide lots
of treats for children in downtown Sapulpa. Downtown becomes
a festival of lights in November with Sapulpa Main Street
sponsoring its annual Lighting Ceremony. Merchants also host
the "Holiday Open House" in November.
The
first Saturday in December begins the holiday season with
the Chamber's annual Christmas parade. The merchants light
up the parade route and host many activities in their stores.
Downtown merchants sponsor the Holiday Stroll and carriage rides in Mid-December. The Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce can provide an up-to-date
calendar of events upon request.
In
addition, only 15 minutes away, residents can enjoy Tulsa's
special events including Mayfest, Oktoberfest, Tulsa State
Fair, Gatesway International Balloon Festival, the Jazz on
Greenwood Festival, Tulsa Philharmonic orchestra, Tulsa Performing
Arts Center, Tulsa Ballet, & the Tulsa Opera.
